Meaning:
SO-SAN is the pseudonym of the great monk Choi Hyong Ung (1520-1604) during the Lee Dynasty. The 72 movements refer to his age when he organized a corps of monk soldiers with the assistance of his pupil Sa Myunh Dang. The monk soldiers helped repulse the Japanese pirates who overran most of the Korean peninsula in 1592.

Start in closed ready stance A
- Slide to C to form a right cat stance toward D while performing a guarding block to D.
- Perform a right hand middle vertical punch to D while slipping the left foot to form a left front stance toward D.
- Slide to C to form a left cat stance toward D while performing a guarding block to D.
- Perform a left hand middle vertical punch to D while slipping the right foot to form a right front stance toward D.
- Perform a high right knife-hand side block to BD while pivoting to form a left front stance toward BC.
- Perform a left hand middle punch to BD while forming a middle stance toward BD. Perform 5 and 6 in a fast motion.
- Perform a high left knife-hand side block to BD while pivoting to form a right front stance toward AD.
