Choong-Moo

Meaning:

Choong-Moo was the name given to the great Admiral Yi Soon-Sin of the Lee Dynasty. He was reputed to have invented the first armored battleship (Kobukson) in 1592, which is said to be the precursor of the present day submarine. The reason why this pattern ends with a left hand attack is to symbolize his regrettable death, having no chance to show his unrestrained potentiality checked by the forced reservation of his loyalty to the king.

Description:

Start in parallel ready stance

  1. Turn 90 degrees counter-clockwise into a right back stance towards B and knife-hand square block
  2. Step forward into a right front stance towards B and left hand high knife-hand block and right hand inside knife-hand at the same time
  3. Turn 180 degrees clockwise into a left back stance towards A and double knife-hand guarding
  4. Step forward into a left front stance and left hand high spear hand
  5. Turn 90 degrees counter clockwise moving the left foot into a right back stance towards D and double knife-hand guarding block
  6. Pick up right leg to form a left bending ready stance towards C
  7. Right foot side kick and right hand punch at the same time.
  8. Lower the right foot back into a right back stance towards D and double knife-hand guarding block
  9. Flying right side kick landing in a left back stance and double knife-hand guarding block
  10. Turn 270 degrees counter-clockwise into a right back stance towards A and left arm low block
  11. Slide left foot out into a left front stance towards A and double C-strike opponent’s neck
  12. Right leg upward knee strike pulling both hands downward toward knee
  13. Lower the right foot to the left foot and then turn 180 degrees counter-clockwise stepping left foot out forming left front stance towards B while executing a block down with the left hand and right hand high ridge-hand (left hand should be under right elbow)
  14. Right foot round kick towards B and lower it to the left foot
  15. Left foot back kick towards B perform 14 and 15 in a fast motion
  16. Lower the left foot into a left back stance while executing a guarding block
  17. Left foot round kick to the 45
  18. Lower the left foot to the right foot and then move the right foot forward forming a left back stance towards C while executing u-shape block
  19. Jump spin 360 degrees counter clockwise, landing in the same spot to form a left back stance while executing a double knife-hand guarding block
  20. Slide the left foot out into left front stance towards C and execute a right hand low upset spear while bringing the left fist to right shoulder
  21. Slide left foot backwards into a right back stance towards C and right hand back fist behind you and left arm low block
  22. Step forward into a right front stance while blocking down with the left hand and right hand spear over the left (left hand should be under right elbow)
  23. Turn 270 degrees counter-clockwise into a left front stance towards B while executing a left reinforced middle block
  24. Step right foot forward towards B into a middle stance while executing left hand middle front block and right inner forearm block then a right hand back fist to the right
  25. Right foot side kick turning counter-clockwise towards A while punching with right hand and then lower foot
  26. Left foot side kick turning clockwise towards A while punching with left hand
  27. Lower the left foot pivot clockwise into a left back stance towards B and execute middle X-knife-hand
  28. Step forward into a left front stance towards B while executing a twin palm upward block
  29. 2 step turn into a right front stance towards A while executing a right hand high block
  30. Without stepping left hand middle punch
